A very rare car, inexplicably forgotten, which in these pages it will be possible to rediscover through many unpublished documents and images, the result of over forty years of research, so as to decipher the dreams, aspirations and ambitions of men of the time, planners, designers, craftsmen at the highest levels of the time, who, with their extraordinary professionalism and creativity, gave life to cars that are also part of that myth that is the Italian car in the world.

Designed in Milan and built in Turin, the LMX is an Italian grand tourer, the daughter of extraordinary characters, who gave life to a car characterized by innovative technological solutions, with an eye to the new stylistic suggestions that came from America and with the other to the ‘Italy, master of style and indisputable reference to the world for balance and elegance.

An entrepreneurial venture that began in 1968 with great ambition and characterised by ingenuity and courage but which, like other Italian car manufacturers, was penalised by insufficient economic resources.

Una vettura rarissima, inspiegabilmente dimenticata, che in queste pagine sarà possibile riscoprire attraverso documenti ed immagini inedite, frutto di oltre quarant’anni di ricerche, così da decifrare i sogni, le aspirazioni e le ambizioni di uomini di allora, progettisti, designer, artigiani ai massimi livelli dell’epoca, che con la loro straordinaria professionalità e creatività, diedero vita ad autovetture che fanno anch’esse parte di quel mito che nel mondo è l’auto italiana.

Pensata a Milano e costruita a Torino, la LMX è una granturismo italiana figlia di personaggi straordinari, che diedero vita ad un’auto caratterizzata da soluzioni tecnologiche innovative, con un occhio alle nuove suggestioni stilistiche che giungevano dall’America e con l’altro all’Italia, maestra di stile ed indiscutibile riferimento al mondo per equilibrio ed eleganza.

Una vicenda imprenditoriale nata a ridosso del 1968 con grandi ambizioni e caratterizzata da genialità e coraggio ma che, come altre produzioni automobilistiche italiane, fu penalizzata da risorse economiche insufficienti.
